Homewood and Tahoma sit in a heavily wooded section of Lake Tahoe on the west shore located about 5.5 miles south of Tahoe City. Homewood is just north of Tahoma. Vacation rentals vary with everything from classic Tahoe cabins to modern homes. Homewood is home to the Homewood Mountain Ski Resort and the Chamberlands Landing beach. Homewood and Tahoma are close to some of Tahoe's most beautiful beaches and State Parks including Meeks Bay, Sugar Pine Point State Park, D.L. Bliss State Park, and Emerald Bay.

The Homewood Post Office is located at 5375 W Lake Blvd, and the Tahoma Post Office is at 7000 W Lake Blvd. For groceries and deli you will find the Tahoma PDQ Market (6937 W Lake Blvd) and Obexer's (5300 W Lake Blvd). Obexer's is also a full service boat company, marina, and water sports rentals. For dine dining you can go to the Westshore Cafe, or Swiss Lakewood Restaurant and for more casual meals you will find the Chambers Landing Bar & Grill or Westshore Pizza.
