Artisan handing a handmade ceramic mug to a smiling customer at an outdoor market

AT A GLANCE
When: Saturday-Sunday, May 22-23, 2027 (hours to be posted)
Where: The Village at Palisades Tahoe, Olympic Valley
Cost: Free

Made in Tahoe is a free spring festival in the Village at Palisades Tahoe, set for Saturday and Sunday, May 22-23, 2027. It celebrates the artisans, businesses, chefs, organizations and entertainers of the Lake Tahoe Basin and Truckee, and Palisades presents it in partnership with the North Tahoe Chamber's TOT-TBID Dollars at Work program.

What Made in Tahoe Is Like

Picture a big local market with a soundtrack. Vendor booths spread through the Village, and the most recent vendor list on the Palisades page runs past 100 names, heavy on jewelry, pottery, glass, woodworking, candles, photography, apparel and outdoor gear made around the lake. Local food vendors cover tacos, rotisserie, donuts, ice cream and popsicles, and the beer is local too. In 2026, the festival brought together more than 100 artisans, nonprofits, food vendors and performers and was billed as family-friendly, with live music, aerial performances and dance showcases between the shopping. The crowd is a mix of locals catching up with friends, visitors hunting for gifts with a real Tahoe story and families making a day of it. The pace is easy: browse a few booths, grab something to eat, stop for a set, and you'll probably leave with something you didn't plan to buy.

Event Highlights

Live entertainment runs through the weekend. In 2025, sets rotated across three stages (Community, Events Plaza and First Street) with a DJ playing both days, and 2026 added aerial performances and dance showcases to the mix. The bars come with a purpose. In 2026, all bar proceeds went to the Tahoe Food Hub, and organizers reported more than $100,000 raised for it to date. Shopping is the other big draw, since nearly everything for sale is made in or inspired by the Tahoe and Truckee area, which makes this one of the best places to find gifts that actually came from here. Made in Tahoe also has a fall edition, which most recently ran October 10-11, 2026.

Cost and What to Bring

Made in Tahoe is free to attend, so your only spending is on what you eat and what you take home. Bring a tote or backpack if you plan to shop, and give yourself a few hours, since the booths cover a lot of ground. Palisades hasn't posted 2027 hours yet. In 2025 and 2026, the festival ran from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Late May in Olympic Valley can swing from warm sun to a chilly breeze, and the valley sits around 6,200 feet, so pack a layer and sunscreen.

Parking and Getting There

The Village at Palisades Tahoe is just off Highway 89 between Truckee and Tahoe City. Palisades' winter parking reservation program ends April 11, 2027, and the festival page doesn't list a special parking plan, so check it again closer to the date. TART's Highway 89 bus is free and runs daily between Tahoe City and Truckee with stops in Olympic Valley. If you'd rather ride, the 2025 festival offered a free bike valet in the food court area, run with the Lake Tahoe Bike Coalition and the North Tahoe Community Alliance.

Local tip: Hoping to squeeze in one more ski day? In 2026, Made in Tahoe landed on Palisades' closing weekend, with the mountain open 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through May 24. The 2027 festival falls the weekend before Memorial Day, and Palisades hasn't announced its 2027 closing date, so check the Palisades website before you pack your skis.
