When: August 6-7, 2027
Where: Obexer's Boat Company, Homewood (West Shore)
Cost: Show passes on sale early 2027; kids 12 and under free
The Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance is the lake's showcase of classic wooden boats, and the 53rd edition is set for August 6-7, 2027 on Tahoe's West Shore. The show is held at Obexer's Boat Company in Homewood and presented by the Tahoe Yacht Club Foundation, which puts a portion of the proceeds back into the Lake Tahoe community.
What the Lake Tahoe Concours Is Like
Walking the docks at the Concours feels like stepping into an old Tahoe postcard. Rows of restored wooden boats sit gleaming on the water, varnish polished to a mirror shine, and every slip seems to hold another piece of lake history. The show started in 1972, when a handful of Tahoe Yacht Club members and friends gathered at Chamber's Landing, and today it bills itself as North America's premier wooden boat show. Judges score each boat on the event's own 100-point system, and the standards are famously high. Between the boats, live jazz drifts across the marina, local chefs serve lunch at the food court, the Watering Hole pours classic and specialty drinks, and boutiques set up for shopping. It draws serious collectors and plenty of people who simply love a beautiful boat on a summer day on the West Shore.
Event Highlights
Each year spotlights a different Marque Class, and for 2027 it's Race Boats. Every show pass includes a vote for the People's Choice Award, so the crowd gets a say too. The Roar-Off under the Olson Bridge is the show's signature moment, and a small add-on gives 18 guests bridge access for Saturday's Roar-Off and finale. Other add-ons include the Wine Village, with unlimited samples from local wineries for 200 guests a day, and Terry's Tour, an early-access guided boat tour for 12 guests on Saturday morning before the public arrives. Reservation-only social events traditionally round out the weekend, and the organizers say 2027 social event details are coming in mid-2027.
2027 Schedule
Friday, Aug. 6: Show day one. Wine Village 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 7: Show day two. Terry's Tour 8:30 a.m., Wine Village 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Olson Bridge Roar-Off 4 p.m.
General show hours and 2027 social event times haven't been posted yet. In 2026, the free show shuttle ran 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, which gives a good sense of the show day.
Tickets, Cost and What to Bring
Show passes for 2027 go on sale in early 2027. You can pick a Single-Day Pass for Friday or Saturday or a Two-Day Pass, and both cover dock access, the shops, the Watering Hole, the food court, the silent auction, live music, a commemorative program and your People's Choice vote. Prices haven't been posted yet, and kids 12 and under are free on all show passes. Add-ons require a show pass, sell separately and have very limited spots. Dogs aren't allowed on the docks under any circumstances, even in carriers, backpacks or strollers, so leave them at home. Drinks in plastic cups are fine on the docks, but glass bottles and glasses aren't. Strollers, wheelchairs and walkers use the ADA entrance on the north end and stay on the outer dock up to the Olson Bridge, and everyone follows the red arrows on the docks.
Parking and Getting There
Parking near Obexer's is very limited on show days, so plan to leave the car elsewhere. Under the 2026 plan, the Homewood ski area lot was closed to showgoers except private sponsors, the few spaces within walking distance were reserved for residents and businesses, and highway and side-street parking was strictly enforced, with citations or towing. The organizers' recommended option was to park at the TART Tahoe City Transit Center, 165 West Lake Boulevard, about 7 miles north, and ride the free private shuttles that ran continuously to the show. The free TART bus and on-demand TART Connect also reach Homewood, bike parking was provided, and drop-offs by car or boat were allowed. Check the Concours travel page closer to August for the 2027 plan.
Local tip: The 2027 add-ons sell in tiny numbers, just 12 spots for Terry's Tour and 18 for the Roar-Off. If one is on your list, watch for the early 2027 on-sale and book the day it opens.
