Get DirectionsDon your red, white and blue and your most patriotic behavior for Downtown Truckee’s 4th of July Parade. The 4th of July is the time to celebrate all that’s Americana, and what better way to do this than to come together with your fellow countrymen for a classic small town parade? The parade starts at the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District parking lot, marches down Donner Pass Road and into historic Truckee. Participants from various organizations come out to join the parade such as a regional Pipe Band in full Scottish dress - everyone can celebrate the U.S.’s independence! Both adults and children enjoy this spectacle that embraces a different theme every year. The parade typically begins in the morning, so you have plenty of time to enjoy it before starting the grill, cranking up the Creedence Clearwater, watching fireworks or any other activity you associate with Independence Day. Come on out to downtown Truckee to check out this year’s theme, and celebrate America250 in Truckee style!
