The living room also boasts ample seating for large family gatherings. The dining room offers a comfortable charm, and the generously sized kitchen has been beautifully updated while maintaining its classic feel. The main floor features two cozy bedrooms and a vintage-inspired bathroom; the primary bedroom with a king, while the second bedroom is furnished with a queen.

Parking:
Parking is available for a maximum of 4 vehicles. All cars must park on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.
Pet Friendly:
Maximum number of dogs allowed is 2, additional fees apply per dog.
Other things to Note:
* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 10 adults.
* Use of the BBQ and outdoor furniture is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There will be fans available for your use!
* Your safety matters. This property ,may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

It’s a beautiful and spacious cabin perfect for a family vacation.
Great Cabin, family friendly, and close to restaurants, beach. Backyard was larger than expected.

Happy home in an excellent location
We had two families and with young kids sharing this home and it was a lot of fun. The house is well set up and in a great location next to the woods and not too far from the lake. Kitchen, bathrooms & back porch looked recently remodelled which was really nice. I had to talk with the Tahoe Rental Company a couple of times and they were a pleasure to work with. The cleaning service is letting the side down - dishes have been put away dirty and floors not completely clean. Towels & sheets need to be replaced, they are old & thin. The house is that great though, that even with these issiues I'd rent again.

House works great for a larger, multi-generational group. Rental company is SUPER helpful.

CNAMBERLANDS
MOST WERE GOOD EXCEPT THE CARPET AND THE COOKING PANS WERE SO SCRAPPED THAT THE TEFLON WERE COMING OFF.
Can't Wait to Return
We first booked Retro home for the location but couldn't be more impressed by the property itself and the service of Cindy and her company! The house is wonderful, the pictures don't do it justice and it is much more spacious than we expected. Although the furnishings are an older style they are in great condition, especially the living room furniture. The bedding has been updated since the pics. The front of the house is also a beautiful new blue (even though we also liked the sunny yellow!) We LOVED the trails that are a 2 min walk from the house. We appreciated the privacy of the yard as described. A pleasant surprise was also how stocked the house was - kitchen supplies, sleds, DVDs, books, games, & puzzles. We haven't put together a puzzle in years and there was something nostalgic about working on a puzzle by the fireplace while it was snowing outside. I'm sure the wagon is meant for summer beach gear but we had two 4-year-olds loving the "ride" down the street to the lake. Lastly, the service from this rental company is unparalleled. Over the years, I've rented 25+ properties around Tahoe, including the weekend we got married here. This is in my top 3 as far as giving me confidence that our family will be taken care of. We felt "at home" and look forward to returning here AND checking out other properties managed by Tahoe Rental Company in the future.

When searching for a place we noticed that most living rooms had 1 couch and no other seating which makes no sense for groups. This house has lots of seating. Plus it’s a blast from the past we laughed a lot. The artwork! �� The wood deck furniture needs to be tossed it’s so dried out it’s a splinter danger and the cookware should be upgraded.
We had a great time in Tahoe and the Retro house was exactly what we expected. Old house with old stuff. Why did we like it? Wonderful stay at Retro Chamberlands
Returned this summer for another fantastic week. The house is roomy, comfortable, and well equipped. Easy walk to Homewood and perfect starting point for biking to Sunnyside and Tahoe City. Chamberlands Beach and Chambers Landing Bar/Restaurant did an excellent job of accomodating social distancing, much better than the scary photos we saw of other too-crowded locations.

Spacious, clean and fun cabin to stay in in Homewood
Tahoe Rental Company was extremely helpful throughout the duration of our stay. Katie was easily accessible via phone, despite it being the weekend. She answered our questions about some issues with the door key and the snow. The location of this cabin was incredibly convenient; we were able to walk from the cabin to the grocery store within 20 minutes through 2.5 feet of snow and could make it to the ski lodge in 5 or 10 minutes with little snow! There was plenty of space in the driveway for our two cars and the house easily lodged all 12 of us, plus a dog. The kitchen was stacked full of mugs, plates, baking plates etc. which made it easy for us to make dinner and prepare food for such a large group. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to stay again!

We enjoyed our stay at this rental home. It was clean and in a great location. This Retro home is truly retro, from the dishes to the decor. We had 11 people in our party and it was very comfortable. The home could use a new kitchen table due to the wear and tear but overall we were happy. We would stay again.

Quiet and roomy stay
We held a family reunion of 12 at the house in early September. We found the house roomy enough for all of us, with deck and living areas to spread out in. I would consider renting this house again next year.

There are a couple of things you should know we called for assistance to replace outside light bulbs and got no response. We were not able to use the swimming pool at Chambers which I had been looking forward to. You could use some new beds and a dishwasher that thing is as old as the house. A new barbecue would be nice too. The problem was the deck. Loved sitting out in the trees but it's an accident that happened. I tripped and fell across a one inch gap, ended up in Tahoe Forest Hospital with a concussion and large bruising across my right arm. The TFH is a beautiful facility and I highly recommend it if necessary. Again we loved the basic house but it needs some updating. This review comes form a long time visitor of the Homewood/ Chambers Landing area.
We enjoyed staying in this cabin. My sister and our husbands agreed it reminded of us of our parents home. It's a great lay out with great space. Grandma's cabin at the lake
The Retro cabin just south of Homewood was a great base for our group of three families including 5 kids and 2 dogs. Plenty of space, big kitchen with all the utensils you would need to cook a hearty meal after a day of skiing. It's called the Retro cabin for a reason, it has the charme as if grandma just left it but it's well maintained and super clean. Special shout-out to Shauna and everybody else at the rental agency, who were very responsive, proactive and helped us big time when we thought we locked ourselves out!

Retro Home in Chamberlands
The property was quaint and in a wonderful location but was unclean. We found rotten baby bottles, dried dead bugs and dusty clothes under the furniture. I am disappointed that the check out instructions read to put linen by the laundry room but I am charged a hefty cleaning fee in my agreement. I have used the rental company for a few years now and they are very professional and accommodating, but I was not happy with this stay.
