This 3 bedroom home is centrally located on Lake Tahoe's West Shore in Tahoe City and features beautiful forest views and upgrades throughout the house. Our Elegant Getaway is pet-friendly and has a loft perfect for catching up on your work or for overflow sleeping. Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City's Sunnyside area. It is the perfect place to relax and getaway, yet still be close enough to modern conveniences.
The main level of the home features an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living area, expansive windows and a stunning river rock gas fireplace. It's great for spending time with family and entertaining. If you walk just up the stairs you'll find a nice loft with a small workspace and a game table. Downstairs you will find 3 bedrooms, including a large primary suite with a King bed, a bedroom with a Queen bed, and a kids room with 2 sets of bunk beds.
Walk a short distance to the top of the road to see expansive views of Lake Tahoe and enjoy miles of trails leading to the Tahoe Rim Trail.
Summer guests will enjoy being close to restaurants, beaches, and hiking trails, as well as the bright and cheery interior. Winter guests will enjoy the view of fresh snowfall on the trees through the large windows, parking in the 2 car garage and the quick drive to Homewood, Palisades Tahoe, and Alpine Meadows ski resorts.

Parking:
Parking is available for four cars max. Two in the garage and two in the driveway. All cars must park on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance.
Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.

* Renters must be 25+
* This is a non-smoking home.
* Pets are not allowed at this home.
* Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 8 adults.
* Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Use of outdoor furniture is not guranteed in the winter.
* Like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There will be fans available for your use!
* Your safety matters. This property may features exterior security cameras. The cameras are outward facing and do not look into interior spaces. The cameras will continuously record video and sound while guests are in residence.

Beautiful house in great area
Everything was accurate as the listing except for one thing. We chose this house because of the fenced yard and the large size of the yard for our dog. However there is no entrance to the yard from inside the house. You need to go out the front door and around to the side gate. Not a big issue but I would have appreciated this information.
Wonderful House, Peaceful Vacation
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house had everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving dinner and was so nice and comfy.
Lovely Stay
The house is lovely and comfortable, the property management company was great! The deck is so lovely we wish the back deck had a larger table with more chairs. If the home had private beach access and a hot tub it would certainly become our go to rental
Amazing House
This house is amazing. I would leave there in a heartbeat. The location is close to a lot of great amenities including two trailheads. There is a fully fenced yard which is awesome if you have a dog that needs to outdoor space. Ours really loved the back deck and the proximity to swimming and trails. This is by far my favoritest place to stay in Tahoe. Cannot say enough good things about it.

Great Property
We had a lovely time at this property! It’s super close to the neighborhood trails and appreciated the existing sleds in the garage. The place was always warm and toasty. I wish there was access to the back yard from the house but that’s not really something Airbnb can control haha! Would definitely stay again!
Another wonderful Tahoe experience!
It’s our third time staying at this cabin in Tahoe City and we absolutely love it! The location is great, a short walk to wonderful 180 degrees views of Lake Tahoe, hiking trails, grocery store, pet store, and the yummy Tahoe House bakery! It’s also a very short and easy drive into town! The house is always super clean, and it’s stocked with all you might need during your stay! The rental agency staff is super helpful and accommodating! Additionally, the backyard is fenced and our puppy was able to roam safely. There are filtered lake views from all the rooms, floor to ceiling windows that show the beautiful evergreens, and you feel like you’re submerged in tranquility and beauty every day! We will definitely be coming back!
Comfortable home away from home
The house was soacious clean and exactly what our family was hoping for in a place to stay during vacation.
Perfect place!
My husband and I, and our puppy Grizzly, absolutely loved staying at the Elegant Gateway in Tahoe City. The location is close to hiking trails, and just a short walk to the lake, or the Truckee river. There is also a bike trail right down the hill from the cabin that we used a lot because it takes you anywhere you want to go. The actual cabin was very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed during our two weeks stay. We also truly loved the fact that the backyard was fenced in, so our puppy was able to play and enjoy being off leash. The neighborhood was quiet, especially during the week, when there were't too many tourists. Bonus points: the amazing 180 degrees view of Lake Tahoe just up the hill, at the end of the road. Jenefer was amazing in helping us extend our stay with an extra day, and have a later check-out time. This is our second time renting this cabin, and are definitely planning to come back!

The bedrooms are downstairs and are cooler than the main living area.
Parking was ample. The wifi was a bit weak, but I believe that's true everywhere in the area. The fenced back yard was a great bonus if you have a dog that likes to chase a ball.
Negative: The property behind the house has a floodlight on their property; if you're a light-sensitive sleeper, you'll want to draw the shades, which means you restrict fresh air when it's warm out.
I'll conclude by emphasizing the cleanliness of this home, the quality construction and outfitting, and the ample natural lighting in the main living area. The game loft is kinda cool as well.

Beautiful house!
My family of 4 had a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and clean. Feels very inviting and homey with plenty of room. We loved the short walk up the hill to see the view of the lake. Very quiet neighborhood. My kids loved the bunk beds. My only complaint is about 3 hours after we checked out, the management company called me wanting to know why I put the comforter in the washing machine to wash and it ended up with a rip in it. The problem is that I never even took the comforter off of the bed. Obviously the cleaning crew tried to blame me for their mistake. I didn’t appreciate being blamed for something I did not do. Other than that, the house and our stay was amazing!
Great weekend ski rental
My wife and I rented this place for an MLK weekend ski trip with our two teens (plus a friend) and my mother and her partner. The place was just right - very clean, good bedroom/bathroom layout, plenty of space (and light) in the very nice living room, and a very useable and comfortable kitchen. We've rented a lot of weekend places in Truckee/Tahoe City area, and I would definitely put this one near the top - not a boffo luxury place and no one thing was spectacular, but everything was very nice and comfortable and there were no major issues. Particularly for a house that allows dogs (yeah!), I would rank this place very high, and I tend to be fussy and picky (e.g., I get annoyed by too many tchotchkes in a place). I should also add that the location is good - 15 minutes to Alpine on 89 and also close to the backroad to the Sherwood lift.

Great Tahoe Hang...pet Friendly
Our family enjoyed our holiday stay at this 1355 Alpine. Lots of room to spread out and only 5 min from Tahoe City. Rental company was great on communication during our stay which included a record dump of over 2ft of snow. Hope to visit again soon.
Beautiful cabin in the woods
We booked our stay about a month ago, hoping for snow during the Thanksgiving break. We didn't get our snow, but we did have a very relaxing getaway in this beautiful cabin in the woods. 5-stars, will definitely book again in the future!
Stay here a year ago, loved the cabin, so I stayed here again
We stayed here Oct 2020, and loved the cabin. So we came back to Tahoe in Oct 2021 and stayed here again. It snowed the 2nd day and the local area lost the internet for most of the day, but we found their Tivo (remember that thing) with shows recorded on their Tivo hard drive.
Great House, not suitable for Summer weather
This is a great house with nearly everything you would want in the kitchen. The house has amazing windows that let in a ton of light. The use of the garage is an asset as well. It is in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Like most homes in the area, it does not have A/C, so when the temperatures get to above 75, the main area and loft are unusable. It never got cool enough for us to use the loft even after dark. There are three very small fans (not box or tower), but they do not cool the main level at all. Unfortunately, the beautiful windows (only lower ones have blinds) create a greenhouse effect and make it warmer inside than it is outside, even with the windows open. I would absolutely stay in this house again if I visit anytime when there is no chance of 75 degree temps. The sleeping area is lower so it is a bit cooler, but still warmer than you would set your home if you are used to AC. Wi-fi works fine on main level, but is weak on the lower level.
Nice Tahoe property
First I'd like to say the house was nicely updated, bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice. The kitchen was well supplied from a cooking perspective. Great location. For the most part we had mostly positive things to say about the house itself. However, on the downside. the yard is not attached to the house , which was why we wanted a yard to be able to let dogs out and play and potty, but the access to the yard was from outside the house, and yard was a dirt bowl. The other really negative thing that actually caused us to leave 4 days early was that the house did not have any air ventilation other than windows, and the smoke from the fires was unhealthy, and we could not open windows. So hot air, outside smoke and not air filtration was really deadly for our crew.

Very comfortable and great location
Beds were great! Whole house was nice. The location was really good for all of our activities. Would definitely rent again. Little Cons: The half bath door didn’t close, therefore couldn’t be locked. The washing machine was so loud, you couldn’t run it while sleeping. Could use more or bigger fans to cool off the afternoons and evenings.

We really enjoyed the location of this home-only a 3min drive to Tahoe City. Plus, the setting was so nice-tucked away in the trees and even the deck has a view of the Lake! The kitchen was well stocked with all the amenities needed to cook any meal.

Lovely Lake Escape
Beautiful well appointed and incredibly comfortable home with cozy and comfortable furnishings. It's roomy and homey with all the modern amenities that we have become accustomed to. The neighborhood is quiet and close to everything!! Amazing hikes!! Beautiful lake walks!! Yummy local food joints!

Awesome cabin
We loved this cabin and had a great time here. It was perfect for 3 of us and two dogs. The fireplace runs off temperature settings which was great. I had some issues with the heat when we first arrived, but started working after a few hours. The bed rooms are downstairs (just like my house) so the living area and kitchen stay warm while the bedrooms stay cool for a goodnight sleep. The view and all the windows were great. I would stay here again. I love being just down the street from downtown Tahoe City.

Great place for a family getaway.
Very nice and comfortable property with plenty of space for 5 adults and 2 little dogs. Quiet neighborhood and easy access to the walking bike path (less than 1/2 a mile away) and an easy walk into town. We found everything we needed to cook all our meals and unlike other places we have stayed they had plenty of dishes and glasses so we weren't washing dishes after every meal. The backyard is totally fenced in and a great place to let your dogs run around. We brought our corn hole game and set up in the yard and enjoyed the outdoors. You do get a peek of the lake through the trees from the deck and we saw bats flying around at dusk. We plan on going back next year! Management company was great to work with too, we were missing a cork screw and they provided two before happy hour!

We only needed a treadmill in the garage and we could have concluded the house was fully equipped. Dog bowls were waiting on the floor for our dog.
I love a house to be very clean and in order and I felt right at home.
I will absolutely go back to his house and it is only 2 minutes drive from Tahoe city . A true 5 stars and accepting dogs! What else can you ask?
The house has a very nice layout with 3 levels which give you the ability to have quiet time when still be around the family. The high ceiling and large windows give you a true feel for the nature surrounding you. The bedrooms downstairs are well isolated so you can sleep when the conversation is still active in the living area on the second floor. If you like to cook, you will be able to roast a chicken or barbecue and have all the seasonings, foil , multi kitchen accessories and even an orange press machine for the morning.!<br/>We only needed a treadmill in the garage and we could have concluded the house was fully equipped. Our booking experience was great. The management company very responsive to our questions. The home was as beautiful as in the pictures! Great space with lots of windows and natural light. Good location in the Tahoe City area. Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and good kitchen stocked with the basics for cooking and eating. The snow was amazing our kids could sled in the yard and the snow banks at historic heights! We loved the gas fireplace to be warmed up after a day outside. We hope to come back and stay another time!

The Perfect Getaway
If you're in need of the perfect getaway, this is it! Not only is this home located in the heart of West Shore Lake Tahoe, but it's beautifully decorated, has a peaceful view of the pines, a large fully-fenced backyard, and a well-equipped kitchen! Our whole family (dog included) loved our stay and can't wait to return!

We brought along our 10 month old German Shepherd puppy Sabina and she LOVED the house and especially the backyard. BTW our last German Shepherd was named Petra and we loved her no-end. Is that what Petra GS Dog means? If so, what a wonderful coincidence.

We had the best time! The house was lovely and so practical. We found everything we needed and very much appreciated the organization. People after my own heart! Great Tahoe Getaway
