Five Lakes Trail is one of the areas most popular hikes located near Alpine Meadows Ski Resort in the Granite Chief Wilderness. The short day hike (2.5-5.7 miles depending how far you go) winds through beautiful granite and manzanita and leads you to five pristine alpine lakes where you can stop for lunch or a swim. The trail is available June until November. Dog friendly.
To find the trailhead head down Hwy 89 and turn onto Alpine Meadows Road. When you get closer to the resort you will almost always see cars parked along the right hand side across from Deer Park Dr.
