Very nice house in a nice location

Perfect house for a two family ski trip. Lots of fun and things for the kids to do

We had an amazing time spending quality time with my family. The house it self was very cute, nice and clean. Lots of games and books available to play and enjoy. We would definitely recommend.

Nice stay at the Challies Chalet. Property was nice and close enough (drive) to the local private beach (passes are supplied). We have Family that have a place on Pine which is why we chose to stay here. The property is located at the top of a steep hill that would be difficult to walk up, not a big deal for us but worth noting. Property was well equipped, had plenty of room, was clean and had everything you need for a nice stay. The only issues we had, which unfortunately is what you remember, were with the neighbors. Nothing too big, but on the first night we received a noise complaint from the Rental Company that we were "partying" at 2am, it definitely was not us as we were a smaller group of families with young kids and were all asleep by 10pm. Could have been a mistake, but there were only 2 other properties located by us. Secondly we moved a car out off the end of the driveway to let another car leave, parking across the street. The adjacent neighbor immediately came to tell us "only locals are allowed to park on the street". I get it there are rules, but we are talking minutes. The same neighbor also had 2 trucks and 2 bobcats parked on the street. I am not certain, but pretty sure this is the same neighbor who made the noise complaint. Seems like they just don't like short term renters in their neighborhood.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property from Jan 1-4th. The house is in a relatively convenient location for skiing in Palisades. The roads were plowed promptly during during a storm that came through, so we never had any issues getting to the house or leaving from it. The kitchen was well appointed, making it easy to home cook meals for our group. We enjoyed hanging out around the upstairs dining table and down in the game room. One small note (not a problem, but may be relevant to some groups) - the bedroom with the queen bed has the door to access the garage in it. So, we were frequently walking through that room.

We had a magical white Christmas. The beds were comfortable, the place was clean and there was room to spread out and enjoy our presents.

Loved everything about the cabin especially the game room had lots of fun with the family.

Enjoyed a family vacation with five adults and one toddler. Home was beautiful and very clean. Kept up nicely and was located in a very peaceful quiet neighborhood the top of the mountain side. Easy to get to from Tahoe city so meet it nice for shopping, etc. Was a little more money than I was wanting to spend, but I guess you get what you pay for. <br/>Property management was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. <br/>We would certainly consider renting the home again in the future.

We arrived very late due to a 4 hour plane delay. The property was very hot due to being shut up all day. The fans they provided helped cool it down. No issue after that. The house was clean and worked well for the 5 of us. The rec room was nice so the young adults could do their own thing in the evenings. The instructions were clear and we had no problem accessing the property. The book with things to do and places to eat was also helpful.

Fabulous home! Great location. We especially loved the kitchen, pool table, games and sauna. Crazy the amount of snow right now. I was bummed to hear there was a neighbor complaint about using the driveway to turn around. We&#x2019;re a very respectful family, so that was odd. I&#x2019;m guessing there&#x2019;s a history there. That doesn&#x2019;t take away from our wonderful experience there though. Thank you again!

Enjoyed our 3 night getaway in the snow. Having never stayed in this part of Tahoe we enjoyed the new experience. Easy location to head north to Incline Village or South for fun in South Lake Tahoe. Loved the upstairs area, the pool table, sauna and overall look and feel of this home. I also appreciated the extensive TV channels so I could watch football.

We had a wonderful holiday. The location perfect... the beach great. <br/>The only thing I would suggest to the owner is to clear a couple of cabinets in the kitchen so that the renters can put groceries away. Also would like to have a closet available in the master bedroom to hang clothes

We rented Challies Chalet for 10 days in July, 2022 because we had previously owned a home in Talmont approximately 3 blocks away from Challies Chalet and enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the Paige meadows trails, and the Tahoe Park HOA beach that comes with the houses in that neighborhood. This is an older house with 3 bedrooms and a huge recreation/family room with pool table and sauna. The master bedroom is large, but the other 2 bedrooms are very small, one being a bunkbed room that has approximately 3 feet between the beds. The street is quiet and borders the Paige meadows wilderness. We enjoyed our stay but would like to advise future renters about a serious issue with the neighbor across the street. Within 5 minutes of arriving he was telling my wife to move her car, that it was parked in front of his driveway, when it was actually parked in front of a conservancy lot (permanently preserve open space) that he had created an illegal dirt driveway on without a curb cut and was driving all his trucks and equipment over to get to the dirt behind his house. This neighbor also had a large snow clearing bulldozer blade parked permanently in the street by his house. The 4th night we were there we had dinner on our deck in the front of the house with our friends who were staying in another cabin in the HOA development. We are all in our 60s and are doctors and health professionals. The neighbor called the property manager at 9 pm to complain about the noise we were making, which was absurd, we were simply barbecuing and eating dinner outside from 7-9pm. He also complained about the cars parked on the street by our friends. According to the property manager (Tahoe Rental Company) there was a law passed in the last 60 days making illegal to park on the street if the house is a short term rental. Another issue with the property management company was they insisted I pay $100 for a broken ceramic horse on the book shelve that was broken when we arrived.<br/>

This house is on a very quiet street, that is near hiking trails and open forest area. There is enough of a slope and enough room to sled on the side of the house. The street to get to the house is really steep 12% grade so might be a problem for people without 4 wheel drive. There is a sign that says chains recommended if snowing or icy. But not deal breaker just have to be really careful in the snow (duh lol) we really enjoyed the house. The sauna and pool table were great and overall the house is in great shape with good furnishings. I had read on other reviews where people complained about toilet paper and paper towels not being enough for a long stay and they start you with 2 extra rolls in each bathroom. we brought extra paper towels and just ended up taking a roll of tp for one of the lesser used bathroom. More tp would be nice for longer stays but we did have enough for 6 people and 5 days. 6 days would have been ify. Kitchen was very well stocked lots of spices and nice plates cups etc. there was also a mixer and a crock pot. I would stay here again. We really enjoyed the quiet street and went for a lot of walks. 8 mins to save mart and lots of nice places to eat close by. (8-10 min) also lots of books and games. The only thing i disliked was the heat control. the themostat in the master bedroom controls the back of the house, upstairs and downstairs (master bedroom and game room) and took a while to get the downstairs warm without cooking in the bedroom. But we got it figured out. The only other thing would be i would like to see some better pots and pans, we made everything work of course but some new pans would be nice. great trip and we cant wait to be there again. thank you for sharing your house with us.

Challies Chalet was a perfect getaway spot for a Great Tahoe experience! Sits up on the hill above Sunnyside, away from traffic and close to Page Meadows trails. Expansive kitchen, dining and living room area opening out onto deck on one side and master bedroom on the other. Pool table w/extra living room, Sauna, 2 bedrooms and garage on bottom floor. Private beach access next to Sunnyside is wonderful perk! Thanks

We had a nice time despite the moderate air quality. Our family likes the water more than hiking, so the location wasn't perfect for us, BUT my husband mountain bikes and the location was great for that. We drove to the water everyday. For the most part, we like to be closer to a town and the water. We hit the thrift stores and restaurants around the north shore. Our last night, we played mini golf in Tahoe Vista. So fun.<br/>The house was clean enough for our liking. I would run the mop over the floors more and wash the bathroom rugs more often, but other than that it was good. <br/>The house has everything. I LOVED the drawerful of Snapware. We cooked so much, I used almost all of them. <br/>I think our favorite amenity was the pool table. We all had a blast playing pool just about every night. <br/>Yes, we would recommend Challie's Chalet. <br/><br/>

It was a perfect place to stay and was perfect accommodations for our family gathering! I would stay there again!

The only issue would be is if you had a problem with stairs. Home is very spacious, you can relax in your rooms and still have silence when others are in the game room. Quiet neighborhood and a few very sweet and friendly neighborhood dogs.

All the reviews were accurate. The rental was immaculate. Nice quiet neighborhood, 8 min to Tahoe City. We had perfect weather- a foot of snow our second night. Sledding all around the neighborhood with our grandkids. Tons of firewood in the garage for the wood burning fireplace. Cabin was perfect for our group of 6!<br/>Rental company was very attentive & professional.

It was a magical experience! Fantastic home with beautiful furnishings and decor. Snowed a foot while we were there, which added to our delight!<br/>The game room was so much fun! We played cards and pool all 6 days of our stay while we watched the snow fall out the nice large windows.<br/>My brother was so impressed with the home, he booked booked it for himself, his 2 sons and families for April.<br/>The large kitchen, with it's granite mountain backlit backsplash, large single sink and faucet with deck, was amazing and a joy in which to prepare meals. It was equipped with everything needed including beautiful matching dinnerware and silverware. Attention to detail included a fall welcome mat and table runners throughout. Nothing went unnoticed by the family and we appreciated all the owner's lovely touches. It was 6 days we will always remember!!

The family descended on Tahoe for a week of skiing and catching up - parents from St. Louis, Brother and his family from the Bay Area, and my crew from Denver. 8 plus a baby in total - and the Challies Chalet and management staff could not have been more accommodating. Perfect location for skiing Squaw and Meadows, checking out Emerald Bay, and doing a little shopping in Truckee.

Our family of five had a great stay at Challies Chalet! The home was very well maintained and clean. We had tons of space to spread out and plenty of cookware and dinnerware - something that we were very appreciative of, as we cooked / prepped several meals at the house. It was also very nice having a garage, although it was a tight squeeze getting our SUV in there ;-). <br/><br/>It snowed lightly during our stay, and we almost had to our in chains to get down out of the neighborhood - several cars actually slid to the side of the road. It was a little nerve racking but manageable. Something to keep in mind when staying in the winter. Obviously not an issue in the summer and the location would provide amazing views of the lake!<br/><br/>The only issue we had with the house was the hot water on the first night. It ran cold midway thru the second shower. However, the management company had someone out there first thing the next morning (Brisa), and she checked to make sure all was OK. Although she didn&#x2019;t actually make any adjustments, we didn&#x2019;t have any issues the remainder of our stay. <br/><br/>The books and games for the kids were awesome and Wi-Fi and TV were great for the whole family!<br/><br/>Overall Challies Chalet is a fantastic house in a great location and we look forward to staying again in the summer!
