Description

Welcome to this beautifully remodeled spacious log cabin in Carnelian Bay. This home features all the Tahoe must-haves: gas fireplace in living room, hot tub, sauna, large deck, proximity to beaches, trails, and close access to prime mountain resorts.

Located in a quiet neighborhood in Carnelian Bay, there are three nearby popular California ski resorts to choose from and you are also near pleasant trails less than a few hundred yards away from the home for hiking and mountain biking in and around Watson Creek and Tahoe Cross Country Ski Trails. In fact, you will find trails from here to Tahoe City and the town of Carnelian Bay. You are only a few minutes by car from both Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

The main floor's living and kitchen area, where you will gather while indoors, has an open floor plan with all the upgraded amenities in the kitchen. In addition to the gorgeous fireplace to warm up beside, you have beautiful furnishings and decorations throughout. The expansive front deck will be a pure joy with a morning cup of coffee or good book, or for stargazing at night. There is enough seating at the dining table to accommodate 8 people for nice family meals, with three supermarkets available within 5 miles; you can stock up on your way in, for you may never want to leave!

With three separate levels of the home, you will enjoy your privacy while still enjoying the family. The top level has the spacious master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a large bathroom with an oversized dual-head shower, a sitting area with a pull-out sofa, and an office with a full sized Murphy bed. The main floor has two additional bedrooms with a queen bed in one, and a twin over full bunk bed in the other bedroom, plus a full hallway bathroom with a shower/tub. The luxurious spa-like lowest floor features an indoor hot tub, sauna, open shower, and another full private shower.

Location:
While the kids (and a few grown-up kids) have a snow day on the property's yard, perhaps others will want to venture out to the local ski spots like Northstar (11 miles away), Palisades Alpine, Palisades Tahoe (12 miles away), and Homewood. On a summer day, you will be only a few minutes from beautiful lake beaches. You may choose to grab a latte and breakfast at the charming Old Post Office Coffee Shop or a hearty meal at Gar Woods Grill and Pier. For a night out, explore the restaurants in Tahoe City (less than 5 miles) or travel 7 miles north to Crystal Bay in Nevada for cocktails and games of chance.

Other things to Note:
* Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access.
* Parking is available for 4 cars total in the warmer months; 3 cars total during heavy winter snow. 2 cars in driveway, 2 cars in garage. No street parking is allowed per county ordinance.
* Due to the temperate climate, like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There are plenty of fans available in the event that we have an unusual hot spell.
*Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. AWD and 4WD necessary to get up the mountain roads and some driveways in the winter months.
*Renters must be 25+
*Maximum Occupancy per county ordinance is 8 adults

This house was perfect for our little getaway with friends with small children. Plenty of room and lots of sleeping arrangement options, including a pack-n'-play sleeper for our baby. We were very comfortable playing in front of the fireplace, cooking, and relaxing in the indoor hot tub! We even managed to get some sledding and a quick snowshoe in the neighborhood, which sits a block from national forest. As noted in the listing, the road up is relatively steep, but having the garage fit two mid-to-large cars helped us avoid the morning snow dusting. The whole process was very well communicated and straight-forward (including the extra hour early check-in!), and the property is perfectly maintained. Thanks!

This house was a perfect choice for my extended family winter vacation. We were easily able to fit two families including kids. The house has plenty of bedrooms (sleeping spots) and bathrooms for larger groups like that. There were also workspaces for the adults who needed to do work during the day as needed. Location is very close and a short drive from the shops in town, the lake and Northstar or Pinnacles ski area. Hottub and sauna were a major plus after all day winter activities. There's also a winter recreation area a few blocks away for sledding and hiking. Kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen wares, pots, pans, and anything else you need to cook all your meals. We did not have to worry about forgetting to bring everything since the house had anything we might need. Would definitely stay again.

We invited another family to share this home with us and had a great time. Space: There was so much indoor and outdoor space (huge patio) that we never felt crowded. The number of bedrooms (3 not counting the couches or murphy bed) and bathrooms (3) along with the large living room were plenty to accommodate both families. We ate meals inside at the dining table but also outside at the large outdoor table. We also took advantage of the outdoor grill one night and had an amazing dinner. We spent an afternoon on the patio lounging in the Adirondack chairs and hammock watching the kids pick pine cones. Plenty of space in the driveway to park 2 cars as well.Amenities: Wifi (really handy for the adults who had to work); TVs (kids loved being able to watch a movie while in the hot tub); cards and various games (great alternative to TV); hot tub and sauna (they were clean and we enjoyed using them); washer/dryer (really handy when travelling with kids)Location: A great location, about midway between King's Beach and Commons Beach. It's also between 2 Safeway stores and shopping. You can also walk down the hill for lake access or go for a run around the neighborhood. Great hosts: The home was really clean and had everything we needed. We followed a recommendation for hiking and for a local beach, spending almost an entire day at the beach.

This was our first trip to the snow with our girls (4 & 6 years old). It was pretty magical due to the recent heavy snowfall. I'm not sure which part of the house impressed the kids the most - the amount of snow/icicles, the bunk beds (and secret reading nook), the hot tub, or the master bedroom overlooking the living room. It's a great family friendly house with lots of space and plenty of entertainment for adults and kids(wifi, 3 TVs, board games, puzzles). We didn't use the large deck because it was too cold but the kids had fun trekking through the snow on the deck. There was plenty of space to also set up laptops for working and take calls without being interrupted. The home also had sleds we could borrow; there is open space next to the house and an easy trail recommended by the owners within a 5-10 minute walk that was perfect for sledding. The trail seemed to be a short loop that residents used; we saw people walking their dogs; people on snow mobiles. The home is also conveniently located within a 10-15 minute drive of 2 Safeways and drug stores for all your groceries and essentials. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook meals. Lastly, it was beautiful to wake up and see the sunshine streaming through the large windows. The house is located in a really quiet neighborhood so it really feels very peaceful and relaxing.

We loved this home. It has such charm and the most amazing unique log detailing that is rare to find. This home definitely feels like a home away from home, as it is well equipped with plenty of kitchen-ware, utensils (for those that love to cook), that was so appreciated as we love to cook and have family meals after a long day of skiing. It is obvious that these owners take great care in treating this home like a 2nd home away from home and no detail goes unnoticed. The home is spacious and ideal even for two families as the upper floor has a master as well as a home office with a Murphy bed and it's own bathroom, while the main floor has a beautiful guest bedroom as well as a 3rd bedroom with bunk beds (the bottom bunk is quite spacious and fits 2) and another bathroom. Our kids loved the bunk beds and our entire family loved relaxing in the hot tub and spa on the lower level every night after skiing, with a third bathroom. Once you stay in this home, nothing else will compare.

We had a lovely stay as a family with younger kids. The home was clean and well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook most of our meals on the stove or bbq, although we also easily ordered pizza from the nearby town too. The location was ideal for summer activities, where we were able to walk a couple of blocks to the forest trails that our kids loved exploring. Our kids also had fun going to the beach, less than a 10 minute drive away. Staying in was just as much fun, where we were able to enjoy the hot tub and dining outside on the deck. All in all, we had a great time and had a hard time leaving to go home!

We had the most amazing time at this rental home! The house itself is absolutely gorgeous -- vaulted ceilings, a cozy fireplace, enough space to fit our entire group, a hot tub to relax in, a sauna, and so much more! If you're looking for a place to stay on the north shore, do not hesitate to book this place! Everything was easy to find. There was a binder with information and instructions that laid out everything for us. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights and found the location to be really convenient for restaurants, the beach, shopping etc.The kitchen was FULLY stocked. I mean every pot, pan, tea, condiment, you could imagine. The couches, beds and pillows are very comfy! There were plenty of towels and blankets. They even had games and puzzles available and the WIFI is super easy to access. We used the BBQ to make steaks on the wrap-around deck while enjoying the view. They have a keyless entrance that was easy to use and made us feel secure when we were away from the home either at the lake or hiking the lovely trail located right behind the cabin.Such a good location, will definitely stay again!
