Starry Night Cabin – A Classic West Shore Tahoe Retreat
Tucked among the pines on Lake Tahoe’s desirable West Shore, Starry Night Cabin blends rustic mountain charm with modern comfort. With vaulted ceilings and an open-concept design, this inviting home offers the relaxed elegance of a true Tahoe getaway—perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.
Inside, you’ll find warm wood floors, wood-cased windows, granite countertops, and cozy furnishings throughout. The spacious great room features soaring ceilings and a pellet stove fireplace, creating the perfect space to gather. The kitchen includes a large island with bar seating—ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks—while the adjacent deck invites you to fire up the BBQ (seasonal availability) and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
The upper level hosts the main living area along with the primary bedroom, featuring a comfortable queen bed. Downstairs, two additional queen bedrooms offer restful retreats, along with a well-appointed bathroom complete with a relaxing jacuzzi tub. A two-car garage and large driveway provide convenient parking.

Adventure is right outside your door. Hiking and biking trails are nearby, with the West Shore bike path just one block away, connecting you along Highway 89 to Tahoe City and beyond. Sugar Pine Point State Park and the sandy shores of Chambers Landing Beach are within walking distance (approximately 15 minutes on foot).

The house is 2 story, 3 bedrooms,2.5 bath with spacious kitchen/living area.There is a large front balcony that faces the street overhanging the driveway. The inside is very cozy, with a lot of beautiful wood.There is a gas oven/stove which made cooking easy. The beds were very comfortable and linens were wonderful. Neighborhood is quiet, secluded.

Clean, comfortable, and convenient. My family and I stayed at this rental because it was close to friends that had a home not too far away. We had a nice stay, the home was clean, furniture was clean and perfect for Tahoe. I do however wish it had a newer tv.

Great for a weekend stay, only complaint was there was no shampoo or conditioner in the showers but everything else was provided in the home

This was our 2nd time renting this home and we plan on renting it again in the spring. The home is cozy, incredibly clean and very functional. The kitchen is well stocked and the furnishings are nice, cozy and very clean.
The best part is the amazing customer service and attention from the rental company (Tahoe Rental Company). I did not have any issues but if I had questions, they responded immediately via phone or email. They even bought a new blender for the house upon our arrival so we didn’t have to pack and bring our own!

Pretty great, but not perfect. Things that need fixing are a couple of pots & pans kitchen drawers don’t work properly or don’t open at all. The refrigerator icemaker, the instant hot water faucet at the sink, and the trash compactor all don’t work. Some of the deck furniture cushions need repair because an animal has chewed on them but we really liked that comfort area on the deck!

A picture does not tell the whole story. With the living area upstairs, transporting all your supplies for a week is hard work! This was not an inexpensive rental and there are a few deficiences to mention: Water dispenser and icemaker did not work and the fridge leaked causing slip hazard on floor. The original microwave over the gas stove had been removed and replaced with a piece of plywood. The deck needs maintenance as the paint was flaking which is not good with young children in the house. Suggest additional fans should be purchased as the living quarters upstairs are very hot with direct sunlight. Grout in bathroom 2 around sink and tub need repair.

We love this house! We have been renting on the west shore of Lake Tahoe for over 23 years. This was our first time in this house and it won't be our last! The house had every amenity needed and we did not lack for anything. It was so clean and well kept up. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything I needed to cook and bake. The best part of the home is that all 3 bedrooms have queen beds, which is a big factor for us when renting homes! So many of the rental homes have bunk beds and trundle beds that are uncomfortable, even for kids! So we were so lucky to find this since it is a bit rare. The other amenity we loved was the full size washer and dryer! Again, so many rental homes have the small sized units and it makes it such a hassle to do laundry. But there was a designated laundry area downstairs with plenty of room. Plus, there was plenty of extra towels and sheets.
The house is on a nice and quiet block and it was so relaxing and a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature!
The owner and staff at Tahoe Rental Company are absolutely amazing! They were so responsive and handled any minor questions or issues I had and even sent someone out to loan us a blender! They provided great customer service and that makes a huge difference when renting a home. They were always available 24/7 by email or phone.
The house is on a nice and quiet block and it was so relaxing and a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature!

Lovely, clean cabin. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Our only complaint was a lack of extra blankets or quilts. The beds had only one quilt and it got a bit chilly in the night. So nice to have a garage to keep our car out of the snow. Highly recommend.

A group of friends visited this house in Tahoma in September 2020. The house was perfect for a group. Kitchen had all we needed to do some nice cooking and bbq'ing. Place was clean. Definitely would book this place again!

The house was terrific! The layout worked well for 5 of us. Efficient use of space. Clean and cozy. We enjoyed cooking meals and hanging out in the evenings. Spent the days outdoors biking, hiking and kayaking. Although there was construction next door, it seemed to be fine once we knew to close window on that side of the house.

The Starry Night Cabin was spacious and very clean. It was too hot to sit out on the deck in the afternoons, which was disappointing. It was nice to be able to park my car in the garage. When we had a problem with the TV, the Tahoe Rental Company explained over the phone how to solve it.

A Great Break From Covid19

We had such a great time to kick back and relax. The reason we were in Tahoe was for a long-planned family reunion with my first cousins and their children and grandchildren. The pandemic ruined those plans but we decided to enjoy the week away. It was perfect for my husband, our daughter and son-in-law and grandson. It was just the perfect setup for us. My son in law did most of the cooking, so it was a true vacation for me. I would have liked more of a lake view, but we had a nice view of lots of trees and the stars at night. The nice deck was a comfortable addition.

We enjoyed a lot this cosy cabin in Tahoma ! It's so close to Homewood ski resort ! the cabin is cosy, it was really clean, we appreciated, and it is also very well equipped with everything you need if you want to cook. We highly recommend this place.

My family and I had an amazing time at Lake Tahoe. I loved the cozy cabin and not to mention the house is very clean, the view from the deck was beautiful! I love all the windows around the house, we were able to see the beautiful snow fall during our stay. I truly experienced a white Christmas! I enjoyed looking out the windows everyday day. I would highly recommended this cabin to everyone and I would love to come back!!! I do suggest more TV's in the rooms so the kids can use and the adults can enjoy too especially in the evenings after our day in the snow.

For the most part it was a very good experience. The only complaint that I have is that on the first night of our stay we lost power. There were only 3 small candles and you have to have electricity to run the fire place. It got pretty cold in the house that first night. Other than that first night our experience was great!

What a lovely home... it was spotless and in excellent condition. No detail was overlooked. Even ice cube trays in the freezer were full and ready for drinks. Outstanding work Tahoe Rental Company.

Our family of 6 had a great stay here this summer. This cabin has comfy beds, spacious living area/bedrooms, and a large deck just a few blocks from the lake. Very well-maintained, nicely updated and clean. Would definitely recommend! (Only suggestion to owner would be to replace the broken blinds on the living room slider.)

Starry Night Cabin in Tahoma - Lovely

The Starry Night Cabin in Tahoma was among the nicer accommodations we've experienced in Tahoe. I wouldn't call it a 'cabin' it is a lovely HOME. Access to the 2 car garage was immeasurable as it snowed like crazy when we were there. Shauna at TRC was terrific and helpful. We'll be booking with TRC again, and as location permits us - we would gladly book the Starry Night Cabin again.

We had a wonderful stay at Starry Night Cabin - my husband, adult son, and friends, our first visit to Lake Tahoe. The house has a wonderful open space with beautiful light coming in through the huge windows, looking out into the pines. Everything was as described. To me there should be no mention needed of cleanliness in a review, which is expected as a rental, but towels shaped into artful, high end hotel folds was a fun surprise. The kitchen was well supplied with contemporary kitchenware. Please know that there's stairs up to the main entrance and then downstairs to the bedrooms(if mobility issues or hauling small children are a concern). We liked the location, being away from crowds. However, the walk to the beach involves crossing Rt. 89 which has speedy cars, so be careful. We'll be back!
